Main Mobility, located at 9580 Main St., across from Clarence High School, will be one of many automobile businesses featured during this week's Buffalo Auto Show, happening now through Sunday, Feb. 10 at the Buffalo Convention Center, 153 Franklin St., Buffalo.

Main Mobility offers a variety of mobility products that will make driving and individual accessibility needs even more enjoyable, according to Tom Lorentz, president and owner of Main Mobility.

"Our main focus is specializing in equipping vehicles to make them wheelchair accessible," Lorentz said. "We design and customize vehicles to drive or to transport family members, and we do the same for group organizations that provide transportation, such as We Care Transportation."

Lorentz said Main Mobility can aid those with disabilities and/or disadvantages in a number of ways.

"We are not focusing on the disability but rather the individuals' ability to drive or how they can be transported from one place to another," he said. "We try to offer products that make entering a vehicle or driving a vehicle as easy as possible. This could be simply installing a grab handle, or it could be a full conversion with the floor cut up and modified to fit the client's needs."

Lorentz said his company can work with area car dealerships to select a vehicle that would work best for their client's situation.

"We try to guide the clients to select the best product that will work for them," he said. "Every one of our clients are the most wonderful people, and in a way, we are giving them a new lease on life. So, it's important to us to help them through the entire process. Not everyone can own a sports car, and we want to make sure the proper decisions are made with the appropriate considerations to the client's abilities ... not disabilities."

During the auto show, Main Mobility will be hosting a series of demonstrations and displaying an array of vehicle modifications and products, all of which are designed to "keep you on the go, Lorentz said. Main Mobility will feature a 900-square-foot "mobility experience" room at the convention center.

"Our staff will be on hand to show you how we can team up with your favorite auto dealer to select the most appropriate vehicle to see that your mobility needs are met," Lorentz said adding that this will be Main Mobility's second appearance at the popular car show. "We are really grateful to the NFADA (Niagara Frontier Automobile Dealers Association) for giving us this opportunity."

Main Mobility's Main Street location is open from 8 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and by appointment on Saturday.
