Northeast Sharks compete in Goodwill meet

The Northeast YMCA Sharks competed in the Goodwill swim meet at the ECC Flickinger Pool on Jan. 13. Over 500 swimmers competed in the day's events.

The Northeast Y had over 65 swimmers competing. Meet directors Rich Bleichfeld, Bill Niblock and Rick Marable called the event a huge success.

In the girls 8 and under, Olivia Smith took home a 10th place in the 25 free and had personal bests in all events. Anna Zarzecki placed eighth in the girls 25 free.

Zarzecki swam with the 10 and up relay. Caroline Smith took placed second in the 25 fly and first in the 25 back. Samantha Nagy took a first in the 25 free. In the boys 8 and under, Jonathan Zarzecki won the IM.

The girls 10 and under relay team of Natalie Jusko, Kendall Smith, Arrianna Revelas and Eilis Johnson took third in the 200 relay. Smith produced a fourth in the 100 free. Johnson took home first in the 50 fly and third in the 100 free. The girls 10 and under relay of Mikayla Towles Schwen, Paris Howell, Emma Lister and Elizabeth Jacobia placed a personal best in their event.

The boys 10 and under relay team of Jacob Zarzecki, Jonathan Zarceki, Julian Marable and Bill Niblock placed third. Julian Marable won the 50 back. Jacob Zarzecki placed third in the 50 back and fourth in the 50 free. Bill Niblock had a personal best in the 50 back.

In the 12 and under, Olivia Marable placed second in the 100 fly. Grace Lawson won the 50 free.

In the senior girls, Kinsey Kolega placed first, Jordon Beamer took third and Sara Militello placed sixth in the 50 free. Courtney Denk took second in the 100 fly and Michelle Niblock placed fourth.
