Town of Tonawanda Titans win Gold IMX

The Town of Tonawanda Titans dominated the Niagara District 14 and under Gold IMX meet.

Titan swimmers set one district record, 17 team records and swam 145 lifetime best swims.

Lauren Phillips earned United States Eastern Zone cuts in all of her events. Phillips set new Titan club records in the 100, 200 and 500 freestyle, 50 butterfly and 200 individual medley.

Emily Kopas set a new Titans' club record in the 200 breaststroke. Kopas swam United States Eastern Zone qualifying times in the 200 breast, 500 free and 200 backstroke.

Jacob Hofmar-Glennon earned United States Eastern Zone qualifying times in the 100 and 200 back. Hofmar-Glennon took first in all of his back events.

Peter McCarthy earned United States Eastern Zone qualifying times in the 200 and 500 free, 200 fly and 200 back.

Katelyn Battaglia earned a United States Eastern Zone cut in the 200 free with a "AAA" time. Rebecca Anthone had a brilliant "AAA" swim in the 50 free.

Allison Kopas took first in the 500 free, 100 and 200 IM. Clare Battaglia swam "AA" times in the 200 and 400 IM and 100 and 200 free.

Leia Federiconi had "A" level times in the 100 and 200 breast, 50 free and 200 IM. Aleza Epstein had "A" level times in the 100 free, 100 back and 200 IM.

Allison McCarthy had "A" times in the 50 fly and 50 and 100 free. Nicole Malkowski had a personal best "A" level swim in the 500 free. Emily Smith had a personal best swim in the 100 free.

The Titans finished with the greatest number of team points, capturing first place overall.
