WNY Immediate Care expands with second location in Amherst

WNY Immediate Care is helping to meet a growing community need for immediate and accessible health care with the opening of a second location, increasing the options available for those in need of treatment for non-life-threatening medical emergencies.

The new location, at 2099 Niagara Falls Blvd., in Amherst, expands access to immediate care to Amherst and the Tonawandas. The new site is also home to Pulse Occupational Medicine.

The first location of WNY Immediate Care and Pulse Occupational Medicine opened in 2005 on Transit Road in Williamsville. Both businesses are a part of Exigence LLC of Williamsville.

"Since we began, we've noticed that there were two areas where additional options were needed. These included places to treat non-life-threatening medical emergencies outside of the emergency room and occupational care and education," said Dr. Gregory Daniel, Exigence chief executive officer. "Opening a new location on Niagara Falls Boulevard affords us the opportunity to deliver these in-demand services to more people in the region."

WNY Immediate Care is an alternative to visiting a hospital emergency room by providing treatment for injuries, ailments and illnesses that are not considered to be life-threatening. In most cases, patients at WNY Immediate Care are treated and released in less than one hour, and the cost to both the patient and insurance provider is significantly lower than the cost of a visit to the emergency room.

WNY Immediate Care and Pulse Occupational Medicine are open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekends, 365 days a year. Additionally, Pulse is available via phone during non-business hours.

Referrals and appointments are not required, and most major insurance plans are accepted, including Blue Cross & Blue Shield, Community Blue, Independent Health, Univera, Empire and Medicare.
