Lenten healing series set

Throughout Lent, Amherst Community Church, 77 Washington Highway, Snyder, will hold a series on healing - from the traditional to the unconventional - beginning at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6 with a traditional Ash Wednesday service.

At 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, the series will continue with the ancient meditative healing practice of walking the labyrinth, an intricate, lined maze that fosters introspection.

The next installment will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20. Reiki practitioner Carolyn Musial will demonstrate the Japanese discipline of the laying on of hands.

At 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, blacksmith Kim Davis will talk about her work with "singing sound vessels."

At 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, there will be a showing of "For the Bible Tells Me So," which will be followed by a discussion.

Ending the series will be a healing worship service, to be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 12.
