Mathewson McCarthy baseball, softball registration slated

Open registration for Mathewson McCarthy baseball will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8 and from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Feb. 9 at The Village Glen Tennis Club, 162 Mill Street, Williamsville.

MMBRB is registering players age 5, as of April 30, 2008, through age 15 who reside in Amherst south of Countryside Lane, west of Hopkins or Klein Road, east of Hopkins or Clarence south of Roll Road within the Williamsville School District.

Returning players may register online with a credit card at its secure registration site, www.mmbrb.org.

Players new to the league and those who wish to pay by check may register Feb. 8-9. New players must bring a copy of their birth certificate to be kept on file by the league.

New players ages 7 to 12 should register at the same time to be evaluated for proper placement. Players should wear sneakers and bring a mitt.
