Online registration is open for Lou Gehrig softball and baseball.

Interested parents can visit www.lgybs.com to register interested players from 5 years old through high school ages for the 2008 Lou Gehrig softball and baseball leagues at their complex on Smith and Dann Road in East Amherst. MasterCard and Visa card payments are accepted.

The online registration will also allow you to volunteer as a coach, help with the concession stand, update contact information, provide assessment of last year's coaches and add comments. Age-eligible students and players will be able to sign up to umpire league games.

Baseball registration location is per Babe Ruth/Cal Ripken affiliation rules (boys must reside North of Klein or Roll Road up to West Klein* in the town of Amherst (zip codes 14051, 14228, 14068, *north part of 14221).

Girls softball is open for players residing in the Town of Amherst or other towns within the Williamsville, Sweet Home and Amherst school districts. A softball open house will be held from 10 a.m. to noon, Sunday, Feb. 10 at the Clearfield Recreation and Community Center, 15 Plaza Drive, Williamsville. It will include information about Lou Gehrig, a skill area (hitting, throwing, catching, etc.) and new player evaluation.
