Catholic education with distinction offered at Christ the King Christ the King School was named the No. 1 private elementary school by Business First for the last four years. The honor is due to the hard work of students, faculty and parents, according to school leaders. The school, at 2 Lamarck Dr., Snyder, has an enrollment of 293 students in grades pre-kindergarten through 8. Respect is emphasized, and as its mission statement says, "We strive to have each student and faculty member aware of God's love and how to share it." Christ the King's academic programs begin in preschool with activities that prepare children for kindergarten. The Catholic faith is taught on a daily basis to every grade level, and they gather together to pray each morning. The school follows the New York curriculum along with the curriculum outlined by the Diocese of Buffalo. Their programs in the Junior High include an Accelerated Math program and Advanced Science. Each year, their eighth grade students receive numerous scholarships from area high schools. Christ the King has a strong and involved Parents' Guild and is a National PTA School of Excellence. Christ the King School offers a wide variety of sports teams and an After-school Care Program that runs until 5:30 p.m. each day. For more information, call 839-0473, Ext. 301. |
