Snyder Eagle Scouts honored

The Eagle Scouts honored from left are Bruce Mitchell, Andrew Taube, William Wieczorek, Brad Mollach, Sean Johnson and David Molik.
Boy Scout Troop 261 from Snyder celebrated an Eagle Scout Court of Honor on Friday, Jan. 4 at Daeman College, where it recognized six new Eagle Scouts.

Bruce Mitchell is the son of Scoutmaster Dave Mitchell and grandson of Eagle Scout Richard Mitchell. Mitchell's Eagle Scout project was to design and build a shelter on a trail at Tifft Nature Preserve. In addition, his project revarnished about 100 snowshoes.

Andrew Taube's project consisted of building six standup water stands that would be 8 feet tall and put in the ground at Camp Pioneer in Angola.

William Wieczorek assisted the Ladies of Charity in the group's Fresh Start Program with an item drive for household basics and with the direction of volunteers to assist the Ladies of Charity at their headquarters in Buffalo.

Brad Mollach's project was to build plant tables for handicapped individuals at a group home for People Inc. because they are not able to get on the ground to do any planting.

Sean Johnson built three mammal release cages for Tejas Wildlife Refuge and Messinger Woods and provided a final set of design drawings and material list for future construction. His brother, Ian Johnson, received his Eagle Scout award in 2007.

David Molik's project was at Cradle Beach Camp, where he cleaned, sanded and restained ramps and patios at four resident cabins. His brother, Dan Molik, received his Eagle Scout award in 2004.
