Meeting

The League of Women Voters of Buffalo/Niagara will hold a meeting on the past, present and future of the Buffalo waterfront - extending from the former Bethlehem Steel site, the Outer Harbor, the Inner Harbor (the Buffalo River) and on down the Niagara River - will be the subject of comprehensive review and discussion. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23 at the Harlem Road Community Center, 4255 Harlem Road in Amherst. Julie Barrett O'Neill, executive director of Buffalo/ Niagara Riverkeeper, will use Power- Point to illustrate the history of the waterfront, the changes currently taking place, and proposals for improved highway access, commercial development, recreational use and the Peace Bridge Plaza. The next meeting of the Buffalo Bills Booster Club will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29 at Calvary Church Scaife Hall, 20 Milton St., Williamsville. Denny Lynch, former director of archives for the Bills, will present Bills news. New members are welcome. Membership is $15 per year and $35 for a family. For more information, call 685-3247.
