Will the daughter of a brilliant mathematician inherit her father's genius - or his madness?
Find out when Kaleidoscope Theatre Productions presents "Proof," Friday, Jan. 25 through Feb. 9.
"Proof," by David Auburn, tells the story of Catherine, who has spent years caring for her brilliant but unstable father, Robert, a famous mathematician. Now, following his death, she must deal with her own volatile emotions, the arrival of her estranged sister, Claire, and the attentions of Hal, a former student of her father's who hopes to find valuable work in the 103 notebooks that her father left behind.
Over the long weekend that follows, a burgeoning romance and the discovery of a mysterious notebook draw Catherine into the most difficult problem of all: How much of her father's madness - or genius - will she inher it?
"Proof," directed by Beth A. Gerardi, features Erin Sabia as Catherine, Ed Tormay as Robert, Tara Potzler as Claire and Keith Wharton as Hal.
The production opens at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25 and continues at 3 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26. Other performances are at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and 3 and 7:30 p.m. Saturdays, through Saturday, Feb. 9 at the Marie Maday Theatre at Canisius College, Buffalo. For tickets, call 479-1KTP.
