Allison Boehm, a Sacred Heart Academy graduate, Cheektowaga resident and senior on the St. John Fisher College women's basketball team, has been named Empire 8 Conference Player of the Week and the College's Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending Jan. 13.

She was also selected to the JP Morgan Chase Scholarship Tournament First Team.

Boehm paced the Cardinals to a fourth-place finish in the 42nd annual JP Morgan/Chase Scholarship Tournament through the week, averaging 21.7 points and 13 rebounds per outing and adding 15 assists, five blocks and six steals over the three-game span in which the Cardinals posted a 1-2 mark.

In Fisher's 72-53 opening-round win over Keuka on Tuesday, the Cardinals enjoyed strong play from Boehm, who led all scorers with 19 first-half points, finished with a season-high 25 points, and added 12 rebounds, five assists and four steals. With the win, Fisher advanced to the tournament semifinals to take on Nazareth College at University of Rochester.

The Cardinals trimmed a six-point Nazareth lead in the closing moments of the game on Tuesday, taking a 53-52 lead with 1:04 remaining before the Golden Flyers pushed their lead to three points from the charity stripe.

Boehm attempted a three-pointer from the top of the key as time expired, but the shot rimmed out. The 5-foot-11 forward recorded 22 points, 15 rebounds and five assists for Fisher.

Boehm led the Cardinals again in Fisher's 79-67 consolation loss to Roberts Wesleyan College on Saturday. She notched a team-high 18 points and 12 rebounds, while dishing out five assists and blocking two shots.

For the season, Boehm leads the conference in scoring (17.9), rebounds (9.9) and three-point shooting percentage (48.1 percent, 25 of 52), while leading the Cardinals in assists (43) and steals (22).
