Resident awakens to late Christmas - 20 trees found in yard

Friday, Jan. 4
• Police were called to Lynn Lea Road about a car that had been sitting with its lights on for a long time. Patrol found two people in the back seat and reported it was a "boyfriend and girlfriend saying goodnight."
• Someone in a red Ford Explorer was reportedly littering out of the window on South Youngs Road at Wehrle Drive. The suspect was not located.
• Reckless operation of a vehicle was reported on Main Street. Someone was driving the wrong way for a block, cutting off the complainant.
Saturday, Jan. 5
• An Emerson Drive resident reported an unwanted guest. The complainant had reportedly allowed the person to stay there, but that person then started destroying his property. The guest left.
• A fire was reported at a North Ellicott Creek Road residence. The alarm had been set off by smoke from a self-cleaning oven.
• A suspicious man was reported on Princeton Avenue for standing in the street for 15 minutes and then walking away from the area. Police located the man, who stated he was just waiting for his girlfriend.
Sunday, Jan. 6
• A Robin Road resident asked an officer to speak about neighbor activities in the apartment building. Her complaint was that her neighbor was smoking cigarettes.
• Unwelcome guests were reported at a grocery store on Alberta Drive. The manager was complaining about subjects driving around in motorized carts. They were advised.
• The manager of a restaurant at the Boulevard Mall reported that a man in an orange jacket was following customers to their vehicles. He then left toward the bus stop near TGI Friday's.
Monday, Jan. 7
• Police were called to a grocery store on Niagara Falls Boulevard for a larceny report. One suspect took meat, which was recovered by a manager, and the other suspect took an unknown item.
• A West Maplemere Road resident complained that 15 to 20 Christmas trees were piled in her front yard and up against her house. They were placed there overnight.
• A woman reported that she had lost her car keys and thought someone had mistakenly taken them after borrowing her bonus card, which is on the key chain.
Tuesday, Jan. 8
• Eight warnings were issued to six women who were allowing their dogs to run loose on Paradise Road near East High School's football field.
• Reckless operation of a vehicle was reported on Sheridan Drive. A female driver was reportedly drinking from a bottle of vodka and weaving all over the road in a gold colored Buick Century.
• On Spindrift Drive near Windsong Radiology, a group of youths reportedly threw around garbage and Quest boxes.
Wednesday, Jan. 9
• A lane on Muegel Road was covered by tree limbs.
• A traffic light fell on Transit Road, and the broken pieces were causing an obstruction.
• A Dan Troy Drive resident called police about a large hedgehog in the back yard. It was gone when the patrol arrived.
• A Tristan Lane resident called for assistance because his power was out and he wanted help getting his garage door open to get his car out. He was assisted.
