Robert Krieterof Williamsville was named commodore of the Niagara Sailing Club for 2008. He was installed on New Year's Day. Other officers are: Vice Commodore John Crownie, Rear Commodore John Dickinson, Fleet Capt. Steve Webb, Treasurer JT Tomkins and Secretary Ross Kaiser. Elected to the board of directors were: Greg Chamberlain, Ray Dan-Jumbo, Scott Henderson, Chuck Meyer III, Tom Schultz and Kevin Slachiak. Lori Albano received the club's service award for 2007.

The Museum of disABILITY,a project of People Inc., has been awarded a grant of $5,000 from the National Endowment for the Humanities. The grant will allow the museum to enhance the care of its collection by developing a long-term plan to improve archival management.
