Kern appointed Amherst Schools' new school business administrator The Amherst Central School District has appointed Gregory W. Kern to a three-year probationary term as school business administrator at the district office effective Feb. 11 at its Jan. 8 board meeting. Kern, who holds a valid permanent school of business administration certificate, replaces Mark Whyle, who became the district's new assistant superintendent - administrative services in November. Kern has been a school business official since 1999. His previous work experience in schools includes assistant superintendent for business in the Newark Central Schools, director of financial services for the Medina School District, and system office director of financial aid for Bryant and Stratton College in Buffalo. Kern was also controller/ chief financial officer of the First Coast Technical Institute in St. Augustine, Fla., for two years and a Small Business Administration loan officer in Niagara Falls for a year. Kern received a bachelor's degree in accounting and business administration from Niagara University and a master's of science in education and school business from Brockport State College. |
