Home invasion reported on Harding Road A Harding Road woman was home with her infant son on Jan. 8 when three men entered her house, tied her up and ransacked the home. Detective Lt. Rick Walter said Amherst police are continuing to investigate the home invasion, which occurred around 11 p.m. Jan. 8. Walter said the men kicked in a door and approached the woman, putting a silver revolver to her head, demanding money. According to the report she was tied up and put in a room with her sleeping infant son. The three suspects then ransacked the house, taking a big screen TV, cell phone, cash and stereo equipment. They then moved the woman and her son to another room to ransack the one she had been in, Walter said. They left in the woman's 2002 Jeep Cherokee. The woman was able to free herself and, ran to a neighbor's house to call police. At this time police believe it was an isolated incident. They are investigating the possibility of a fourth suspect. The three suspects are described as black males. Both the woman and her son were uninjured. Anyone with information is asked to call Amherst police at 689-1311. |
