The Theatre of Youth will present its theatrical green thumb when "The Secret Garden" opens Friday, Jan. 18 at the Allendale Theatre, 203 Allen St., Buffalo.
Travel abroad to India and then England to unlock the magic friendship in "The Secret Garden."
On a dark and lonely estate, everyone questions why bratty 10-year-old Mary Lennox wants only "a bit of earth" above any other gift she could have. When a robin shows her the key to a neglected secret garden, she determines to help it grow. With a little attention and nurturing, everything and everyone around her comes to life in this inspiring classic. The production is recommended for ages 7 and older.
"The Secret Garden," is by Pamela Sterling, and was adapted from the novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett. The production, which is directed by Meg Quinn, features Anne Roaldi, Kathleen Betsko Yale, Lisa DelVecchio, RJ Voltz, David Butler, Alex Race, Johnathan Joy and Tim Ne well.
Performances are at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, and continues at 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, Jan. 19 and 20, 26 and 27, Feb. 2 and 3 and 9 and 10. There will also be a 7 p.m. performance Friday, Feb. 8.
