Nash, DeCicco lead Niagara Gymnastics

The Niagara Gymnastics team from Gleason's School of Gymnastics competed in the Graffiti Invitational Jan. 5-6 at the Niagara Falls Conference Center in Niagara Falls.

One of the largest meets in the area, there were teams present from New York, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.

Niagara's Level 4 team earned the second place team award in the competition.

Quinn DeCicco of Amherst was a team leader. Competing in the 6-7 year old division, DeCicco scored a 9.55 on vault for seventh place. She also placed fifth on bars and floor, where she earned an 8.525 and 8.80, respectively. On the floor, DeCicco placed seventh with an 8.80 to bring her all-around total to 35.525, which was good for fourth.

Also competing in the 6-7 year old division was Autumn Kelleher. Kelleher was a standout on vault, earning an outstanding 9.876 to capture the bronze medal. Kelleher was also strong on beam and floor, earning fifth and seventh, respectively. Her all-around score of 34.675 was good for eighth.

Niagara's Level 5 team also had some outstanding performances.

Madison Nash was the team leader. Nash competed in the 11-year-old division, placing in all four events.

On the floor, she earned the silver medal with a 9.0. She had her high score of the day on bars, earning a 9.150 for fourth. She also placed fourth on vault with an 8.55 and in all-around with a 35.050.

Abigail DeCicco, a third grader at St. Christopher School, also represented the Niagara team. DeCicco had her strongest performance of the day on the beam, where she earned a 9.25 for ninth place.

Meghan Aronica, a sixth grader at St. Christopher, earned her high score of the day on the bars, an 8.50.
