East hockey beats Webster-Schroeder

Williamsville East's Federation hockey team heads into a crucial three-game stretch on a positive note, winning at Webster Schroeder of Section V, 5-3, on Saturday at Webster Ice Arena in Rochester.

Eric Bogart led the Flames with two goals and three assists. Joey Cantafio added two goals and an assist.

Kyle Lucey scored the other East goal on a nice feed from Mike DeStephano and Bogart. Goalie Jay Hall was named MVP of the game.

"It was a great overall effort from all four lines," said East coach Mike Torrillo. "The defense, led by Austin Barnett, Max Fogel and Kyle Murray, played well. Youngsters Billy Gaffney and Ted Tetrault are getting better every game."

East (8-4-1) faces Sweet Home at 9 p.m. on Thursday, and Kenmore East at 1 p.m. on Saturday, on the Amherst Pepsi Center Feature Rink.

East faces Bishop Timon-St. Jude at 7 p.m. on Thursday on the Olympic Rink. Sweet Home, Kenmore East and Timon are all Federation small school teams.
