Amherst Town Engineer appointment held

Supervisor Satish Mohan did not appoint a Town Engineer at Monday's reorganizational meeting.

Jeff Burroughs currently holds the position, he was appointed to a two-year term in 2006.

Mohan said the job is a competitive position and he has to wait until the civil service exam results are announced. He did not know when that would be.

He did not have additional comments.

During the Dec. 31 press conference in which a merger of sewer services was announced, Mohan said the town's engineer, Burroughs, would be an important part of the process. When asked about that comment Mohan said he hopes he can reappoint Burroughs based on the exam.

A request for comment from Burroughs was not returned prior to press time.
