Warren earns field hockey honors

Emily Warren, an Amherst resident and sophomore at Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pa., has been named as the Lakers' Field Hockey team's offensive most valuable player.

It's the second straight year she has earned the honor. She led the team with six goals and six assists, and totaled a team best 18 points. She took a team high 43 shots and scored the team's only goals in back-to-back games against Division I opponents, Davidson and Robert Morris University.

She assisted on three of the team's final four goals of the season. The NCAA Field Hockey summary based on the top 200 players in Division II ranked her 39th in goals per game, 31st in points per game and 13th in assists per game.
