Derek O'Brien and Carrie Wilhelm

Patricia and James Wilhelm of West Seneca announce the engagement of their daughter, Carrie Wilhelm, to Derek O'Brien, son of Bunny and Mark O'Brien of Grand Island.

Miss Wilhelm graduated from West Seneca West High School in 2001. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in social studies adolescent education from Canisius College in 2005 and a Master of Science degree in special education, also from Canisius, in 2007. She is a special education teacher.

Her fiance graduated from Grand Island High School in 2002. He received Bachelor of Science degrees in criminal justice and computer information systems from Buffalo State College in 2007. He is a customs broker

An October 2008 wedding is planned.
