Masters and servant
The Irish Classical Theatre Company presents the hilarious Italian comedy, "The Servant of Two Masters," by Carlo Goldoni, which opens next Friday, Jan. 11, and runs through Feb. 10.
 | | ICTC's production of "The Servant of Two Masters" features Peter Palmisano as Pantalone, Brian Mysliwy as Truffaldino and Elizabeth Laidlaw as Beatrice. |
|
Translated and adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher and Paolo Emilio Landi, the production is directed by ICTC's Producing Director Fortunato Pezzimenti.
Hatcher and Landi beautifully render the true spirit of Goldoni's zany and rueful farce in their recent adaptation. All the wacky Commedia characters are there, including the madcap servant Truffaldino who juggles masters, mistresses, lovers, lawyers and plates. Filled with gags, wisecracks, ad-libs and audience participation, Goldoni's wild and unruly classic is an unforgettable delight.
Starring in the title role as Truffaldino is Brian Mysliwy, and also featured is Elizabeth Laidlaw as Beatrice. The cast includes Peter Palmisano as Pantalone, Todd Benzin as Lombardi, Andy Moss as Silvio, Megan Callahan as Clarice, Joe Wiens as Florindo, Christopher Standart as Brighella, Sarielys Matos as Smeraldina, Lawrence Rowswell as the Porter, Alaina Miller and Drew Derek as Waiters, Michelle Eisen as Muffeletta and Chris LaBanca as the Prompter. Live music will be provided by Mary R amsey.
Supporting the production are Production Stage Manager Michelle Eisen, Assistant Stage Manager Shannon McLellan, Lighting Designer/Technical Director Brian Cavanagh, Set Designer Ron Schwartz, Costume Designer Tessa Lew and Sound Designer Tom Makar. Fight choreography is by Steve Vaughn, dance choreography by Kathy Weese, juggling by Nels Cremean and hair and makeup by Susan Drozd.
