      Deputy Supervisor Shelly Schratz's resolution "Putting the Work Session to Work in 2009" was approved at Monday's meeting, but given that the board failed to do any work, one would expect members to deny such a resolution.

      125 Years Ago Dec. 6, 1883 The question of dividing Erie County is now agitating the Board of Supervisors, consequent on a resolution offered by Supervisor Foster of Marilla. The Bee is decidedly opposed to a division of the County. There is nothing to be gained and much to be lost by such a move.

Closing the state's budget gap
      The raid last week by Cayuga County sheriff's deputies on an Indian-owned convenience store is a reflection of mounting frustration with New York State's failure to come to grips with the flagrant, multibillion dollar illegal trade in untaxed cigarettes that is estimated to be costing the state a billion dollars in revenue.
