      Vivian M. Kreitner, 86, of Clarence, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2008. Born Sept. 6, 1922, Mrs. Kreitner was originally from Toledo, Ohio, and later attended Kenmore High School and the University at Buffalo. During the 1950s and 1960s, she and her husband, the late John Kreitner, operated Jack's Corner and Dee-Liteful Frozen Custard in Williamsville for 25 years.

Stephen E. Korta, American Airlines employee
      Stephen E. Korta, 89, of Williamsville, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, at Hospice Buffalo in Cheektowaga. Born Feb. 18, 1919, Mr. Korta was an active churchman who worked for American Airlines for more than four decades. In 1939, he became a Morse code teletype operator, retiring in 1980 as the station manager for the airlines in Buffalo.

      Emily Rose Hoppe (nee Marker), 100, of Williamsville, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008. Born in Buffalo on May 8, 1908, Mrs. Hoppe was recently honored for her centennial birthday. Preceded in death by her husband, Leo F., she was a housewife and a choir member for SS. Peter and Paul Church for more than 50 years.
