Arrest made in Reist Barn fire
Amherst police are not yet releasing details about their investigation, but they have made an arrest in the July 21 Reist Barn fire. Capt. Enzio Villalta said Spencer J. MacPherson, 20, of Cadman Drive, was charged with third-degree arson on Aug. 15. More ...
School tax rate increase is less than 1 percent

Board questions how proposed YMCA will affect traffic

An East Amherst woman was killed after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Transit Road on Monday. New York State Police in Clarence are investigating the accident, which occurred at 10:55 a.m. A vehicle being operated by David E.
