Comptroller expects $600,000 shortfall in fuel budgets

Completing the seventh month of the fiscal year, Town Comptroller Darlene Carroll said the 2008 budget will be hundreds of thousands of dollars short of funds allotted for gas and oil. Mohan calls for employees to return from vacation

Town receives $200,000 to improve homes
New York State has committed $357 million in grants and financing to build and renovate 1,149 affordable housing units. Of that total, the Town of Amherst will receive $200,000 to improve 40 single family homes. Many of the units will be designed to be energy efficient and will include "LEED" green design and construction features and Energy Star appliances. More ...
