St. Benedict's School names principal
      A former educator in the Amherst Central School District has been named principal of St. Benedict's School, effective Aug. 1. Kerri Nowak was named last week by the Rev. Joseph Porpiglia. She succeeds Patricia Boyd, who retired after six years in the post.

      Kelsey Bradbury of East Amherst was awarded the 2008 Lockport Schools Federal Credit Union College Scholarship. The daughter of Gene and Judy Bradbury, she graduated from Williamsville East High School. Bradbury plans to study communication and psychology at the Pennsylvania State University Schreyer Honors College in University Park.
