Maverley's Unique Products celebrates anniversary
      When La Verne Mosey-Murphy opened her shop over a year ago in the Village of Williamsville, she didn't have much of a grand opening. She had more of a "soft" opening, as she calls it. Maverley's Unique Products opened last spring around St. Patrick's Day after a complete renovation of the space, Mosey Murphy said.

Business adds partner, renamed Fichte, Endl & Elmer Eyecare
      Drs. Claus Fichte and Michael Endl have named an additional partner - Thomas R. Elmer Jr., M.D. Now renamed Fichte, Endl & Elmer Eyecare, the firm has offices in both Amherst and Niagara Falls. A native of Western New York and a graduate of Canisius High School, Elmer is also a graduate of the University of Notre Dame.

      Christopher C. Ruggiero of Williamsville was recently promoted to banking officer, collections and recovery services, at First Niagara Bank. In his position, he will be responsible for overseeing the daily processing of bankruptcy notices and other legal documents. He joined First Niagara in 2002 as a bankruptcy specialist.

Watts moving out of Amherst
      After operating for 12 years in the former Eggerstville Hose Fire Company Fire Hall, Watts Architecture and Engineering's founder, Edward O. Watts, said it's time to move. Having outgrown its space in Amherst, the firm will be relocating to the Cobblestone District in downtown Buffalo.

      Golf outing set at Brierwood Country Club The Buffalo Niagara Partnership is holding its 15th annual golf and tennis outing at Brierwood Country Club, 5324 Rogers Road, Hamburg, with tennis being played at the Southtowns & Village Glen Tennis Clubs, 75 Mid County Drive, Orchard Park. The premier networking golf and tennis event in the area begins at 12:30 p.m.
