Spitzer resigns, Paterson takes over Monday
     Gov. Eliot Spitzer resigned late yesterday morning in the wake of news that he has been linked to a prostitution ring and an extensive money transferring network.

Kaminski accuses Anderson of 'malicious' actions
      In a court case against the Town of Amherst and Highway Superintendent Bob Anderson, Kathy Kaminski claims her duties as a crew chief have been diminished. Kaminski said the situation started when she announced her candidacy for highway superintendent. She ran unsuccessfully against Anderson in the November 2007 election.

Artist advocates for MS with painting
      When John O'Reilly had to stop working after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, he felt he lost a sense of purpose. The Amherst resident had always enjoyed painting, and after leaving work he focused on that hobby. He now uses his talents to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Upstate New York Chapter and help others like him.

Attorney, highway departments deal with shortages
      It's been a rough year on the Town of Amherst in regard to salt and settlements. The town attorney's office has requested that $10,000 be transferred from the contingency budget to cover an excessive amount of legal cases. "We have nine appeals in the appellate division; that's more than triple the amount we normally have," Town Attorney Tom Jones said.

Amherst spa allegedly housed prostitution
      The Amherst Police District's Human Trafficking Task Force and Alliance believe an Amherst woman was operating a massage parlor where women took money for sexual acts.

Spitzer apologizes, seeks to regain trust
      In the wake of news that he has been linked to a prostitution ring, New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer made no announcement Tuesday morning about whether or not he will resign. Federal prosecutors announced Monday the arrests of four people in the case. Wiretaps in the case allegedly identify Spitzer as an unnamed client who met a prostitute on Feb. 13 at a Washington hotel.
