Green series set at meeting house

An informational "Green" series at the Village Meeting House, 5658 Main St., Williamsville, will kick off at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23 with speakers Walter and Nan Simpson and a showing of Al Gore's documentary "An Inconvenient Truth."

Displays by the Williamsville Farmer's Market Committee, Mary Carol Dearing of buffalogreenart. com, Bryan Richardson of Peace Corps Panama - Organic Agriculture/Sustainable Living and Kevin Lee, recycling/last use manager, will also be part of the series.

The Simpsons, of the Western New York Climate Action Coalition and the WNY Sustainable Energy Association Trust will share the information they have assembled from training with Al Gore's Climate Project and their own research. The Amherst couple lives in a super-insulated solar home and strives for a carbon neutral lifestyle.

Walter Simpson is the energy officer and director of the UB Green Office. Nan is a registered nurse and health wellness educator, animal advocate and climate activist.
