.All I want for Christmas is my wish that Supervisor Satish Mohan will learn to accept responsibility. He came into office slandering his predecessor in very ungentlemanly terms and has continued this atrocious behavior with all of the department heads, and they're the ones who manage the various aspects of our community; he should be working with them. This behavior in public office could be excused if there were a resignation.

.Regarding the house fire on Frankhauser Road, it's a cheap investment. During the holidays, it might be a good idea to buy your relatives a smoke detector to prevent something like this happening.

.I'm reading the Dec. 19 Bee about People, Inc. and the Mennonite House. What an insult to the intelligence of the people in Amherst that their elected officials admitted there was confusion as to whether the board and town attorney's office were working off different contracts. What in the world do we pay these people to do? I am really scared going into 2008.

.I don't know how anyone got the idea that the majority of residents are for the Benderson development on Maple Road. I did not see any residents' votes on the plan. I did notice, however, a lot of objections to the plan. How it can enhance the quality of life in Amherst, when the town is already overdeveloped, without any consideration for the residents is beyond me. Traffic is a real problem because of lack of planning. To top it off, every business and office that wants to locate in Amherst gets the abatements on their taxes that residents have to now pay.

.I don't feel that Bill O'Loughlin brought any expertise to the Amherst Town Board. I laughed when I read that The Bee said he brought the expertise from his business.

.If you ever need to hear a great reason to keep music in our school budget, just attend the annual two-day winterfest concert at Williamsville East High School. The talent in our school is absolutely amazing.

.I'm calling about snow removal. The highway department does a good job clearing streets down to the pavement, but I don't understand why people use their snowblowers and blow the snow back into the streets after they have been cleared.

.It is absolutely disgraceful that Satish Mohan is trying to oust Harry Williams, our town assessor. For many years, I've found Harry to be competent, professional, dedicated, as was his staff. Because Dr. Mohan "doesn't like" Williams should certainly not be a factor in this. For many reasons, we feel our supervisor is failing us.

.The Erie County Water Authority is getting another raise. It's time they came out and flushed the hydrants and got some of the sludge out of the lines. They always came through and flushed, but now I have brown toilets. I even go to Lockport to wash my clothes, because their water is so much better.

.So, someone on Darwin Drive in Snyder approves of all the traffic congestion and disruption of a residential neighborhood that the contractors and cohorts on the Amherst Town Board are proposing for the Maple Road former gun club site. This guy must be cut from the same cloth as those who approve of a Super Wal-Mart for Sheridan at Sweet Home. Why are these folks trying to destroy our residential areas? What happened to "we, the people?" I suggest Benderson's projects be plopped in the middle of Darwin Drive.
