Nominations for youth awards sought

The Amherst Youth Board is seeking nominations for its 35th annual "Service to Youth" Awards dinner to be held on Wednesday, Feb. 13.

The "Service to Youth" awards acknowledge the efforts of those who have devoted hours of service to the children and youth of the community, as well as recognizing those individuals and groups who have made "outstanding" financial contributions to youth programs in the community.

Nominations will be accepted in the following categories: adult (one volunteer, one professional), youth (one male volunteer, one female volunteer) and business.

A nominee must live in Amherst or the Village of Williamsville and have made significant contributions to youth in the community. Groups may also be nominated under adult and youth categories. Nominees need not be directly involved with the Youth Board or any of its funded programs to be eligible.

Anyone may nominate. Nomination forms are available through the Youth Board Office, Harlem Road Community Center, 4255 Harlem Road or by calling 631-7215. The deadline for nominations is 4:30 p.m., Monday, Jan. 7. Nominations may be mailed, delivered, or faxed (839-0491). For information, call Mary Diana Pouli at 631-7215.
