Wellness center plans healing afternoon

An afternoon of Health, Hope and Healing In Memory of Gail Louise Kern, who lost her battle with breast cancer in July 1998, will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12 at Women's Wellness Center, 835 Hopkins Road, at Klein Road.

All proceeds will benefit the Where Healing Yourself Means Everything Foundation.

Lectures will be given on electromagnetic field exposure through appliances, electronics and cell phones; Melaleuca products and which products are healthier and toxin-free; ionic cleansing and how to remove toxins from the body while restoring it to a healthier alkaline state; and Nikken products, which use magnetic energy to help heal and restore the body's natural balance.

Speakers will include Carolyn Zimmerman, breast cancer survivor and WHYME founder; Carol Lee Mccay, who will speak on "Awakening Your Initiative and Creative Mind"; acupuncturist John Wingfield; massage therapist Irene O'Brien; chiropractor Phillip Jones; health kinesiology practitioner Debra Lee Pecora; Derek Middleton, who will discuss nutrition as it applies to symptomatology; and Linda Smith from Roswell Park Cancer Institute.

Interactive demonstrations are also scheduled throughout the event as well as a Chinese auction and 50/50 raffle.
