Armadillo Acres is the place to be
"The Great American Trailer Park Musical" has pulled into the Riviera Theatre and will be running through Dec. 31.
"The Great American Trailer Park Musical," by David Nehls and Betsy Kelso, is making its first stop in North Tonawanda before hitting the road on a 19-week, 30-city national tour.
"The Great American Trailer Park Musical" is a hilarious look at life in Florida's most exclusive Trailer Park, Armadillo Acres. The central story revolves around the regular guy Norbert and his agoraphobic wife Jeannie, whose 20-year marriage is threatened by Armadillo Acre's newcomer, the hot young stripper, Pippi.
The Trailer Park also plays home to a Greek-like chorus of women - dysfunctional in their own right. With an outrageous and electrifying score, "The Great American Trailer Park Musical" may deal with spray cheese, Dr. Phil, road kill, hysterical pregnancy, electric chairs and strippers, but it's the colorful characters and lasting friendships that are the heart of this side-splitting new musical.
The cast includes Dane Agostinis, Doreen Barnard, Lindsay Devino, Dave Howard, Erica Livingston, Maryanne Piccolo and Sara Ruzicka.
Performances are at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28 and Saturday, Dec. 29, 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, and 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31 at the Riviera Theatre, 67 Webster St., North Tonawanda.
Tickets for all performances except New Year's Eve are $27 general, $15 full-time students, $24 for seniors and groups of 20 or more. Tickets on Dec. 31 are $35 per person and will include a Redneck Buffet. For tickets, call 692-2413.
