Anger management
The Kavinoky Theatre will have
Twelve Angry Men" on stage, beginning next week, Friday, Jan. 4, through Feb. 3.
Reginald Rose's courtroom drama, directed by Brian Cavanagh, is a powerful indictment, denouncement and expose of the trial by jury system where a young man awaits sentencing for the killing of his violent father. Twelve jurors are corralled in a room for their deliberations. To the frustration of his 11 colleagues, one man feels that there is a "reasonable doubt," thereby, preventing a quick verdict. During the heated debate, the hidden preconceptions and assumptions of the jurors are revealed. When faced with playing the hangmen, each juror is forced to face himself.
"Twelve Angry Men" features Christian Brandjes, John Buscaglia, Louis Colaiacovo, Steven Cooper, Don Gervasi, Peter Jaskowiak, Phil Knoerzer, Gerry Maher, Jim Maloy, Steve Nassif, Norm Sham, Guy Wagner and Doug Weyand.
Performances will be at 8 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, 4 and 8 p.m. Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays. Tickets are $32 general, $28 for seniors 65 and older and $10 for students with ID.
