Auditions
Starry Night Theatre will hold auditions for the
Pulitzer Prize-winning play "Picnic," by William Inge, from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday
and Tuesday, Jan. 7 and 8 at the Ghostlight Theatre, 170 Schenck St., North
Tonawanda. Director L. Don Swartz is seeking seven women (two in their late
teens/early 20s; four adults and one mature) and four men (three in their late
teens, early 20s and one adult). Candidates will be asked to a give cold reading
in a group setting. Play dates are Thursday, Feb. 14 through Sunday, March 2.

1950s, tells the story of a charismatic drifter who spends 24 hours in a small
Kansas town and changes the lives of everyone he comes into contact with.
Buffalo Choral Arts Society ( BCAS) will hold mid-year new member auditions
on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008, at St. Joseph's University Church, Main Street near
Winspear Avenue, near the UB South Campus. All voice parts are open for
auditioners with a special need for light, lyric Soprano 1, singers who have
choral singing experience and who can read music. Another need is for basses,
especially Bass 2. All prospective auditioners should prepare a solo from any
published source that best exemplifies the singer's range, tone and interpretive
qualities. Pitch matching, range exercises and sight reading will make up the
