Playoffs set in Buffalo In-line Hockey Group

The fall 2007 playoff season in Buffalo In-line Hockey League Group began this past Saturday.

Major Division

Blues 11, Warriors 4

The Blues have been on top of this division all season and nothing changed here as Pat Smith (Amherst), Josh Grant (Kenmore) and Ben Szabo (Amherst) sparked the Blues.

Snipers 8, Killer Pandas 7

Eric Wright's goal with just 52 seconds left in the game proved to be the game winner in this contest. Rob Russell (Tonawanda) and Josh Vaccaro contributed to the win. Zac Carslisle (Tonawanda) and Evan Dressel (Amherst) led the way for the Pandas.

Vikings 8, Tornadoes 3

David Campuzano scored three goals and added three assists to lead the Vikings. Mike Heberline and Eric Kapucinski (Cheektowaga), Jake Bass and Phil Mayer (Amherst) led an outstanding defensive presence.

Blackhawks 10, Lightning 8

Justin Swan (Tonawanda) led the offensive explosion for the Hawks, countering the efforts of Austin Newman (Tonawanda) and John Lyons (Amherst) in the win.

Junior division

Junior Blues 5, Ghosts 3

The Ghosts, with Brandon Fox playing an outstanding game, came up just a little short. Vicram Goel, Ryan Owarczyck and Nick Antoniadas (Amherst) proved to be the big three for the Junior Blues. The winners take on the Cougars in the next round.

Storm 9, Capitals 5

Speaking of the big three, Tyler Arno, Christian Curtola and Adam Terragnolli (Amherst), have become a huge offensive force in this division. Those boys were instrumental in the playoff victory and will provide a strong test for the Black Knights next week.
