East boys swimming evens record

Williamsville East's boys swimming team evened its record at 1-1 after defeating Lake Shore, 118-65, last Friday at Transit Middle School

The Flames had three double winners. Neil Batta won the 200-yard freestyle (1:57.79) and 100 backstroke (1:01.27). Michael Anderson earned top honors in the 200 IM (2:13.01) and 100 fly (1:02.99). Matt Geiger placed first in the 50 free (23.61) and 100 breast (1:10.09).

Joe O'Gorman won diving with a score of 177.30. Kane Hsieh was first in the 100 free in 54.52. Thomas Mitchell was tops in the 500 free in 5:45.94.

East's scheduled meet on Tuesday with Jamestown has been postponed until Jan. 7. The Flames don't return to action until 2008, when they host Clarence at 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 4 at Transit Middle School.
