'Puffy'-coated males cause trash-can trouble

Friday, Dec. 7

• A Brynstone Court resident, who had packed a U-Haul to move to Arizona, reported that a box containing food and vitamins was missing from the vehicle.

• An accident was reported on Interstate 290 where the driver of one vehicle got out of his car and began yelling at the driver of the other vehicle. Other drivers were "stopping and holding him back."

• Hundreds of containers of "banned substances" were reported at a home on Morgan Parkway. The property was closed off by the fire department until it could be cleared.

• A Chestnut Ridge Road resident reported that a friend threw her TV out a window.

Saturday, Dec. 8

• A reindeer decoration was stolen from a Freemont Avenue lawn.

• A Hopkins Road resident reported that someone ran over his mailbox during the night. A speed limit sign was also found run over down the street from the complainant's residence.

Sunday, Dec. 9

• Three males in "puffy coats" were reportedly running down Capen Boulevard toward Longmeadow, knocking over trash cans.

• A hit-and-run accident was reported on Evans Street.

• A Campbell Boulevard resident reported that she was a customer at a nearby restaurant the previous Friday when an irate customer left the building, and the next day, the complainant found a large dent in the tailgate of her vehicle.

• Approximately 20 people were reported fighting on Main Street.

Monday, Dec. 10

• A grass fire was reported near a playground on Hopkins Road.

• Gas was siphoned out of a car on Fairgreen Drive.

• A customer at a Niagara Falls Boulevard store filled a car seat box with around $1,000 worth of merchandise then paid for the car seat only. The incident was caught on videotape.

Tuesday, Dec. 11

• Inspection stickers were stolen from a Transit Road business.

• A North French Road resident told police that for the past month someone has been going through materials in her recycling bin and removing envelopes and correspondences with the complainant's name and address on them.

Wednesday, Dec. 12

• A complainant on Youngs road heard shots fired.

• Someone drove over the lawn of a Sweet Home Road resident and damaged a pine tree.

• A Mapleton Drive woman told police she could hear voices through her smoke detector.

Thursday, Dec. 13

• A female in a wheelchair was using knives to cut tags off in a Main Street grocery store in order to steal the items. The store declined to prosecute.

• Burnt toast set off a fire alarm in a North Forest Road building.

• Two males with a spray paint can and a chainsaw were reported behind a Kingsview Court residence. They were phone company employees running lines to a nearby house.
