by KATE FASSL AND COLIN KNOER

Williamsville North Student Council proudly recognizes the extraordinary achievements of two members of its senior class each month. Students featured in this column are selected by faculty recommendation. The Spartan Spots for December 2007 are Chantae Miller and John Piaggione.

Miller, daughter of Neal and Marcella Miller of East Amherst, has been the field hockey team captain for North the past four years. She currently holds the all-time record in the nation for most assists in a career (113) and is the only player in national history to amass more than 100 assists and 100 goals in a season. She has been named to the second team All-American the past two years and has played in numerous national and international competitions representing Team U.S.A.

She has played varsity lacrosse and varsity basketball for North as well.

Beyond sports, Miller was vice president of her class steering committee for three years, a member of both National Honor Society and National Math Honor Society, as well as a member of Student Council.
