Steven E. Palka, 59, of Williamsville, died on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007 at Hospice Buffalo in Cheektowaga.

Born in Buffalo, he graduated from Bishop Duffy High School in 1966 and received a master's degree in business administration from Niagara University.

Mr. Palka was a mortgage broker who owned and operated Commercial Mortgage Specialists Inc. and had worked in banking for more than 25 years.

He ran fundraising events for St. John De LaSalle Parish in Niagara Falls for more than 10 years and received an award for his dedication. He was a member of St. Gregory the Great Church in Williamsville and was an avid skier and reader.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Margie L., of Williamsville; two sons, Matthew of Williamsville and Kevin of Arlington, Va.; and one brother, Daniel.

Services were held on Tuesday, Dec. 11 at St. Gregory the Great Church. Arrangements were made by Amigone Funeral Home.
