ASO, Rotary to offer scholarship

Friends of the Amherst Symphony Orchestra and the Williamsville Rotary Foundation will award a $1,000 scholarship to a high school senior who meets one of the following requirements:

A resident of Amherst, matriculation at an Amherst public or private school, or a child or grandchild of a performing ASO member, Friends of the ASO member or ASO Association board member. The applicant must also be entering a college or university with an accredited music department with the intent of majoring or double-majoring in music.

Applications are available at high school music departments or by writing to the Scholarship Committee, P.O. Box 1083, Williamsville, NY 14231-1083. The application deadline is Saturday, Jan. 12. The date for the audition is Saturday, Feb. 2.
