Northeast Sharks win dual swim meet in Medina

The Northeast YMCA Sharks traveled to Medina to race a double dual meet against the Lake Plains Dolphins and the Olean Seahawks.

The meet was well attended and the Sharks won the entire race, beating the Dolphins, 276-149, and the Seahawks, 260-188.

Both Jonathan and Jacob Zarzecki came away with state qualifying times.

The Sharks' relay teams had a great day in Lake Plains. The boys 8 and under relay team of Tom Hughes, Jonathan Zarecki, Nicholas Revelas and James Hughes placed first.

The girls relay team of Nicole Jusko, Anna Zarcki, Samantha Nagy and Savannah Revelas also placed first.

First place was awarded to the girls 9-10 relay team (Natalie Jusko, Kendal Smith, Eilis Johnson, and Arianna Revelas), boys 9-10 (Noah Fortner, Julian Marable, Jacob Zarecki and Eric Niblock), girls 11-12 (Grace Lawson, Morgan Nagy, Olivia Marable, and Mary Bridge) and girls relay 15-18 team (Michelle Niblock, Hanna Bleichfeld, Kerri Bubar, and Larisa Kumm).

Siobhan Johnson took home a first place in the 50 breast. Courtney Denk placed first in the 100 breast as did Mary Bridge in the 50 free.

Coach Bill Niblock was very pleased with his Sharks and in particular the relay teams.
