 | | RAISING AWARENESS - Jan Marshall, of the Jackson Medical Research Laboratory in Maine, spoke at a recent Amherst Lions Club meeting about Alstrom's Syndrome, a genetic disease that causes early blindness and deafness in children, as well as diabetes and obesity, and usually leads to death in young adulthood. Her father, Thomas Davis, a club member, arranged for her to be the guest speaker at the Nov. 12 meeting held at the Italian Village. The club has been supporting research efforts for the relatively rare disease for many years. Marshall was also recently named to the Williamsville Central School District Wall of Fame for her efforts. |
