The Eggertsville Hose Company will be collecting non-perishable goods for its annual food drive. Firefighters will be inthe Eggertsville area at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12 to collect items left outside of houses, in a shopping bags. Donations can be dropped off at the fire station, 1880 Eggert Road. All donations will help families in the Eggertsville area.

The Amherst Kiwanis Club named the winners of its raffle. Three winners of Wal-Mart gift cards received their prizes at the weekly meeting held at the Eagle House on Nov. 13. Winners were Mary Jane Kibby of Williamsville, Lynne Neely of Lancaster and Rose LaPrell of Buffalo. The recent ticket sales and drawing were for the benefit of the Kiwanis Scholarship Program. Each spring, Amherst Kiwanis awards at least three scholarships to deserving seniors from high schools in the Amherst area.

Amherst Lions Club inducted four new members recently during a ceremony held in the Italian Village. They were Richard Lebert, Bernadette Lebert, Janet Antkowiak and Susan Teetsel.
