UBAM swimmers to field large Silver IMX team

The Niagara District Silver IMX championship meet will take place this weekend at the Webster Aquatics Center in Webster, N.Y.

UB Amherst Swimming (UBAM) will be represented with one of the largest contingents of athletes.

Athletes attending in search of gold are Alyssa Anderson, Lauren Anderson, Calista Athans, Samantha Bowers, Zoe Bowman, Kelsey Bradbury, Sarah Constantino, Caroline Desiderio, Alexandria Doody, Ally Dziama, Heather Falk, Tiffany Falk, Tori Fructaci, Alysaa Helak, Jule Hsieh, Victoria Jocko, Nicole Johnson, Amanda Kadish, Kayla Kuechle, Rachel Kuechle, Sara Lagree, Sarah Mastrandrea, Therese Mastrandrea, Brittany Odea, Brooke Pettis, Emma Scumaci, Caroline Soh, Caroline Terhaar, Nan Wang, Abigail Wilkes, Brenna Woodling, Matthew Berus, Mike Burns, Jerry Daigler, Emil Dinardo, Ryan Dutschman, Andrew Engelbach Schafer, Shaun Gendrue, Huibo Guan, Steve Hill, Kane Hsieh, Joe Jabrucki, James Jiang, Kevin Kim, Robby Novak, Marc Ruszaj and Greg Staebell.

On Sunday, Nov. 18, UBAM took 111 swimmers to a USS meet held at Sweet Home High School. UBAM outnumbered and out-swum the competition, swimming several hundred best times and qualifying many swimmers for upcoming championship meets.

"Our success early in the season is a reflection of our organization's commitment to excellence," noted UBAM head coach Flynn Burroughs. "Our swimmers, coaches, and parents are dedicated to establishing UBAM as the area's elite US Swim Club. This will be achieved through our continued commitment to having outstanding practice and meet participation and ultimately demonstrated by our race performance".

The UB Amherst Swim Club is a national goal oriented, US age-group Swim Club that practices at the University of Buffalo, as well as the Williamsville School pools. UBAM also offers a year-round Learn-to-Swim Program for new and less experienced swimmers.
