Girls soccer finishes regular season 11-7-4
Christian Central Academy

Christian Central Academy's varsity girls soccer team won its last two regular season games to claim a final regular season record of 11-7-4.

In their second last game, CCA beat Niagara Catholic, 5-0.

CCA sophomore Faye-Lyne Noel had a hat trick with two unassisted goals. Her third goal was from an assist by junior Laura Albrecht.

CCA's other goals were scored by juniors Rachel Caputi and Leanne Hoppe. The assists were made by seniors Alicia Fairclough and Kristen Ganze.

Against rival Park, CCA won 2-0. Noel had the first goal, unassisted, and assisted on Megan Salzman's goal to win the contest. CCA goalie Leanne Hoppe recorded her fourth shutout of the season.

CCA's win put them at 3-0-1 in the Independent Athletic Conference.

CCA's 11-7-4 record is its best in at least the last ten seasons. Noel scored a CCA record 23 goals and added six assists in 20 games. Senior Katie Smith tallied 14 goals and four assists in 19 games. Fairclough had three goals and eight assists. Senior Sarah Wade, a defender, had three goals and one assist. She also played forward.

CCA will lose seven seniors next season, including forward Ashley Tom, who was injured in the first game, and missed the whole season. Tom was missed since she had been a real leader and scorer in her previous three seasons.

Other seniors graduating are Smith, Fairclough, Wade, and defenders Amie Stuitje, Meredith McLaughlin and Ganze.
