Robert E. Roth, C.E.O. of Mercantile Adjustment Bureau

Robert E. Roth, 58, of East Amherst, died on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007 at Hospice Buffalo, in Cheektowaga.

Born in Buffalo, Mr. Roth was a graduate of St. John Fisher College in Rochester, and received a master's degree in business administration from Rochester Institute of Technology.

He was CEO and co-owner of Mercantile Adjustment Bureau in Williamsville, an accounts receivable management company with over 150 employees in Western New York.

Mr. Roth was founder and CEO of Spectrum Home Mortgage Corporation, which was the largest retail residential lender in upstate New York. After Spectrum was acquired by HSBC Bank USA, he was president at HSBC Mortgage Corporation, managing a nationwide network of over 800 employees.

Mr. Roth served on the board of Wyoming County Bank, and was president of the Transit Valley Country Club.

He was an active member of St. Gregory the Great Church and an avid golfer, fisherman, woodworker, race car driver and collector.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; one son, James; two daughters, Daylan Jellinick and Sarah Mabardy; his father, Richard; and four grandchildren.

Services were held on Wednesday, Nov. 28 at St. Mary's Church, Swormville. Arrangements were made by Amigone Funeral Home.
