Trooper exam applications due Dec. 1

The NYS Police are actively recruiting candidates for appointment as state troopers.

Applications for the exam must be postmarked no later than Dec. 1 and must be accompanied by a $20 filing fee.

The following are minimum qualifications: candidates must be 21 years of age, have graduated from high school prior to application and have a minimum of 60 credit hours at an accredited college at time of appointment.

The starting salary at the academy is $50,374 and includes a comprehensive benefits package. There are several exam dates scheduled for early 2008 in locations across the state.
